They can have a fast acquisition rate, high resolution and computation power, etc. They can be multi-input, multi-channel, with isolated analog retransmission outputs and serial communication.
There are meters with alarm outputs to display and manage programmable thresholds indications. Visible under all lighting conditions, their displays are equipped with one or two lines and are available in different sizes in order to fulfill all requirements.
On the other hand, controllers are microprocessor-based, panel-mounted configurable instruments allowing an accurate real time control. Controllers read data through their inputs and manage to change their working environment acting on their outputs; for example, they can control the right temperature of an extruder without overheating the raw material, thus avoiding the risk of compromising the process.
